1. COMPANY OVERVIEW
Etcare Beauty Product Sales PLC is a dynamic organization engaged in the sale of beauty products in Ethiopia. The company operates within a complex regulatory environment and is committed to ethical business practices, consumer protection, and full compliance with Ethiopian commercial and competition laws.
2, Key responsibility
​Assist in monitoring and interpreting Ethiopian laws relevant to business practices of the company, commercial law, penal law, competition and consumer protection law, and tax law.
Support the Legal Counsel / Head of Legal & Compliance in ensuring business practices comply with Proclamation No. 813/2013.
 
3. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
•          Assist in monitoring and interpreting Ethiopian laws relevant to MLM and direct-selling operations, including the Commercial Code, consumer protection, and competition laws.
•          Support the Legal Counsel / Head of Legal & Compliance in ensuring business practices comply with Proclamation No. 813/2013 prohibiting pyramid schemes.
•          Help draft, review, and organize contracts, agreements, and legal correspondence with distributors, suppliers, and partners under supervision.
•          Maintain accurate legal files, compliance registers, and documentation for audits and regulatory submissions.
•          Assist in preparing internal compliance policies, training materials, and awareness sessions for staff and distributors.
•          Support dispute resolution processes by gathering documentation, tracking cases, and coordinating with external counsel when required.
•          Conduct basic legal research on regulatory developments affecting the beauty products and direct-selling sector.
•          Perform other related legal and administrative duties as assigned by the supervisor.
4. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Education
•          Bachelor’s Degree (LL.B) in Law from a recognized higher education institution  
Skills & Competencies
•          Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Amharic and English  
•          Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
•          Ability to work under supervision and meet deadlines.
•          Basic knowledge of Ethiopian commercial, consumer protection, and competition laws is an advantage.
•          Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and willingness to learn legal research tools.
•          Integrity, discretion, and a strong sense of professional ethics.
5. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (ADDED ADVANTAGE)
•          Fresh graduates or candidates with up to 2 years of relevant experience in a law firm, corporate legal department, or regulatory body.
•          Familiarity with multi-level marketing, direct selling, or consumer protection issues.
•          Membership or enrollment with the Ethiopian Federal Bar Association (or equivalent) is desirable.
6. REMUNERATION
Salary will be commensurate with the company’s salary scale and the candidate’s qualifications and experience  
7. REPORTING LINE
The Junior Legal Officer will report to the Legal Counsel / Head of Legal & Compliance or the General Manager, as designated.
