The United States called for “restraint” and “dialogue” as Ethiopia’s Tigray crisis pulled in regional neighbours, ahead of a meeting on the conflict on Sunday in Egypt, according to a report.
Fighting erupted on September 23 in northern Ethiopia, the report said, as the Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF) attacked neighbouring states, saying they were once again in a “full-blown war” with the federal government. The fighting has triggered a breakdown in Ethiopia’s relations with regional parties, the report added.
