Ethiopian militia groups announced they have formed an alliance with the aim of overthrowing the government in Addis Ababa and pushing for a transitional administration, according to The Morning Star.
The Alliance for Survival brings together seven organisations: the Fano militia in Amhara, the Oromo Liberation Army (OLA), the Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF) and four smaller groupings based in the Ogaden, Afar and Benishangul-Gumuz regions.
Militias from half of Ethiopia’s 12 regional states are involved, the report said.
